Holland & Hart Client Hoosier Energy Purchases Energy from Riverstart Solar Park

Hoosier Energy Rural Electric Cooperative (Hoosier Energy), an electricity supply cooperative, has started to purchase energy generated from the 200 MW Riverstart Solar Park (Solar Park), which completed construction in January 2022. Hoosier Energy has a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Riverstart Solar Park LLC, a subsidiary of EDP Renewables North America, to purchase the energy. The Solar Park is the largest solar farm by capacity in the state of Indiana and will generate energy equivalent to the average consumption of more than 36,000 homes per year, powering communities throughout central and southern Indiana as well as southeastern Illinois.

For more information, please see EDP Renewables’ press release.

In 2017, Holland & Hart served as lead counsel to Hoosier Energy in the negotiation of the power purchase agreement with Riverstart Solar Park LLC. The Holland & Hart renewable energy transactional team was led by corporate partners Leslie Boyle and Ashley Wald.

The firm’s Electric Power team leverages decades of power industry experience to help clients seize opportunities to produce, develop, generate, and move electric power in the renewable and conventional power industries.
