Labor & Employment Litigator Brian Nugent Joins Holland & Hart

Brian Nugent, Of Counsel, joins Holland & Hart LLP bringing a wide range of legal expertise to the firm. Nugent has developed unique expertise representing “dual employment” companies such as professional employer organizations (PEOs) and temporary staffing companies, and offers legal solutions to such companies nationally and across all areas of their businesses, including PEO licensing, start-up advice, insurance, ACA, co-employment issues, and the purchase and sale of such companies.

A seasoned practitioner with more than 30 years in private practice, Nugent’s experience enhances the firm’s employment and corporate services to clients across the country. He provides advice relating to all aspects of employers’ business and operations, including formation, contract development and negotiations, employment advice, unemployment tax matters, defense of regulatory assessments, employment and commercial litigation, and mergers and acquisitions.

Before joining Holland & Hart, Nugent served as Chief Legal Officer of two large national companies operating in the employment services sector (temporary staffing and PEO), where he gained valuable insight and understanding of the legal issues that employers confront and their preferred options for resolution. Nugent has also been recognized nationally in the area of unemployment tax matters on behalf of employers. Specifically, he regularly is retained to assist employers in unemployment tax planning and in appealing unemployment tax assessments all across the country.
