Ms. Wald's practice focuses on project development and finance, with an emphasis on renewable energy projects. She has assisted developers with various stages of the development process, including land acquisition, permitting, construction, and financing. She has experience with the drafting and negotiation of power sales agreements, equipment supply and construction documents, site leases and easements, and documents for the financing of renewable projects. Her practice has included work on projects in the wind, solar and hydroelectric industries. Specifically, Ms. Wald:
Assisted with project-based financing of distributed PV solar generation systems on municipal and higher education buildings in Colorado.
Represented a consortium of municipal utilities in their purchase of a hydroelectric facility, as well as the acquisition of various wind energy power projects through long-term power purchase agreements.
Represented the developer of one of the first and largest photovoltaic commercial solar installations in North Carolina.
Represented developers in the development of wind farms in Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas.
Represented the borrower in the financing of a 165.6MW wind farm in Texas.
Represented the borrower in the financing of a natural gas storage field in Mississippi.
Represented the purchaser of a gas-fired power plant in Utah.
Prior to joining Holland & Hart, Ms. Wald was an associate at the Beijing, China, office of an international law firm where she represented international venture capital firms investing in Chinese companies.
Ms. Wald recently co-taught a course on Renewable Energy and Project Finance Law at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, and has appeared as a speaker on various renewable energy topics, as well as doing business in China.
