EXPERIENCE

Ms. Newland joined Holland & Hart's Natural Resources Department in 2006. Her practice focuses primarily on environmental compliance with federal and state statutes and participation in administration of rulemaking activities. Among other environmental statutes, Ms. Newland has experience with the National Environmental Protection Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Clean Water Act, and cultural resource protection laws, such as the National Historic Preservation Act. In addition, she assists clients with environmental due diligence investigations associated with a variety of transactions and also assists clients in the adjudication of water rights.

Throughout law school, Ms. Newland worked as a law clerk with the Environmental Law Clinical Partnership, as an intern with the Environmental Protection Agency, and as a summer law clerk with Holland & Hart. Previously, Ms. Newland was an Associate Environmental Scientist at MWH where she performed human health and environmental risk assessment analysis for dozens of contaminated sites.

Ms. Newland is admitted to practice law in Colorado.
