EXPERIENCE

Robert Keatinge is Of Counsel to the Denver law firm of Holland & Hart. He practices in the areas of business organizations, taxation and professional responsibility. Mr. Keatinge has represented a wide variety of business organizations and their owners from small start-up companies to publicly traded corporations. He has acted as an expert witness on matters of business organizations and professional responsibility. He has written and spoken nationally in the areas of business law, tax and professional responsibility.

The co-author of Ribstein and Keatinge on Limited Liability Companies 2d Ed (West 2005)and Keatinge and Conaway on Choice of Entity (West, republished annually), as well as law review and other articles on business and tax subjects, Mr. Keatinge is listed in the current Best Lawyers in America (corporate governance and compliance law, corporate law, and tax law), Who's Who in America, and other publications. He is a fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel and a member of the American Law Institute. He is the former chair of the Joint Editorial Board for the ABA/BNA Lawyer's Manual on Professional Conduct and chair of the Publications Committee of the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility and a member of the Colorado Bar Association Ethics Committee. He is the former chair of the Committee on Partnerships and Unincorporated Business Organizations of the ABA Business Law Section and the former chair of the Committee on Entity Selection of the ABA Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section. He is a former member of the American Bar Association House of Delegates; the ABA Business Law Section/National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws (NCCUSL) Joint Editorial Board on Unincorporated Business Organizations and the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers.

Mr. Keatinge has been an ABA Advisor to the NCCUSL Drafting Committee on a Uniform Limited Liability Company Act and the Revision to the Uniform Limited Partnership Act and Uniform Inter-Entity Merger Act and ABA Business Law Section Ad Hoc Subcommittee to Comment on the Revised Uniform Partnership Act. He is former chair of the Colorado Bar Association Taxation Section and is a member of the Colorado Bar Association Ethics Committee. Mr. Keatinge was the recipient of the 2008 Lubaroff Award, the Colorado Bar Association's 2002 Sue Burch Legislative Award and the ABA Business Law Section's 2004 Section Chair's Award.

Mr. Keatinge has been Visiting Professor of Law at Suffolk University School of Law, Boston, MA for 2007-2008. He has taught U.S. Business Organizations in Budapest, Hungary as part of the Suffolk University School of Law LLM. in US Law for International Business Lawyers and is conducted by Suffolk University School of Law located in Boston, MA in cooperation with the Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Law, Budapest, Hungary and the Center for International Legal Studies Salzburg, Austria (2008).
