From January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2008, Mr. Wolfe served as the Managing Partner of Holland & Hart. In this position, he reported to the Chairman of the Management Committee and the five-member committee. He was responsible for the day-to-day management of Holland & Hart and for implementing its strategic goals and plans.
Mr. Wolfe served as the Chairman of Holland & Hart's Natural Resources Department from 2001 through 2006. That department is a fully integrated group of more than 50 lawyers practicing in energy, water rights, environmental, minerals and utility law in all states in which Holland & Hart has offices. He was one of three Department Chairs who had day-to-day management responsibility for the Firm's legal practices.
Mr. Wolfe is listed in Best Lawyers in America in the fields of natural resources, energy, administrative, governmental relations, water, and environmental law. He is also recognized as a leading attorney by Chambers USA in the practice areas of Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Tax Law and General Commercial Litigation. In addition, he is recognized in the area of environmental law in the 2007 Mountain States Super Lawyers and he was the subject of a feature article in that publication.
Mr. Wolfe joined Holland & Hart in 1985 after serving as Chief of the Natural Resources Division, Wyoming Attorney General's Office from 1983 to 1985 and Assistant Attorney General from 1980 to 1985. Mr. Wolfe's practice involves administrative and regulatory advice and litigation and legislative matters. He maintains an active governmental relations practice before Wyoming state agencies and the Wyoming legislature, as well as dealing with federal agencies and Congress.
In addition, he has focused on tax and royalty litigation and counseling for our industrial and extractive industry clients. He has represented mining, oil and gas and commercial clients in extensive litigation before the Wyoming tax agencies and in the courts. This work covers all types of taxes, including severance, ad valorem, sales and use, railcar, public utilities and local property tax.
