DENVER (February 6, 2007) - Holland & Hart announced a new
Global Climate Change Practice Group. The firm is the first and
only law firm based in the Rocky Mountains to organize a practice group
concentrating on this rapidly emerging area of law and policy.
Holland & Hart’s Global Climate Change Practice Group consists
of attorneys who counsel clients on the climate change aspects of energy
and natural resources development, industrial energy use, regulatory
compliance, renewable energy and energy infrastructure projects, corporate
disclosure and governance, carbon markets, litigation, and government
relations. Many of the Global Climate Change Group’s attorneys
actively participate in public and private climate change policy initiatives
and write and speak on climate change issues.
"Climate change has quickly become a complex area of law and public
policy affecting a wide array of client industries," said Lawrence
Wolfe, Managing Partner of Holland & Hart. "Virtually all of
our clients are or will be affected by the rapidly emerging legal issues
surrounding climate change law and policy. The Global Climate Change
Group is essential for us to continue our commitment to sophisticated
client service in this vital area."
James Holtkamp leads the new practice group. He is actively involved
in climate change issues and has years of experience counseling clients
on related issues locally, nationally, and internationally. He currently
teaches the Law of Climate Change at the University of Utah College
of Law.
"We are at the beginning of a legal and policy tsunami,"
said Mr. Holtkamp. "Holland & Hart is uniquely situated to
address climate issues affecting our clients in the Rocky Mountain West
and throughout the world."
