Mr. Potter prepares and prosecutes domestic and foreign patent applications in the electrical and electronics arts. He also prepares claims charts and counsels clients in product design matters.
Mr. Potter has experience in a variety of technology areas, including wireless communications, enterprise data networks, and power conversion systems. He frequently prepares applications directed to complex electronics and signal processing circuits.
Before joining Holland & Hart, Mr. Potter was an in-house attorney for a company that designed and built portable wind-generation technology. He was also a patent agent at an IP-specialty firm.
Additionally, Mr. Potter spent a number of years as an engineer with the U.S. Department of Defense, where he developed hardware and software testing systems for F-16 fighter jets. His engineering experience also includes several years at Enterasys Networks, designing enterprise data network routing and switch products.
Mr. Potter spends much of his free time hiking and biking in the Rockies, especially in the red rock country of southern Utah. He also enjoys snowboarding with his wife and three sons.
